How to Search Criminal Dockets
Utah Courts Xchange is the public search tool for Beaver County criminal court dockets held in CORIS. It reaches public case histories from both the district and justice courts. Beaver District Court takes felonies, class A misdemeanors, and other general-jurisdiction criminal matters. Class B and C misdemeanors, infractions, traffic matters, and ordinance cases go elsewhere. Those belong to the Beaver, Milford, and Minersville Justice Courts in their own areas.
A case number is the fastest route when you have one. Xchange explains that the first two digits give the filing year. One warning: a case number is not unique across Utah. So add Beaver County and the exact court. Name searches work too, and asterisk wildcards are allowed. If the results pile up, filter by court, case type, filing date, disposition date, or judgment date to trim the list.
- Open Xchange and choose District Court, Justice Court, or both.
- Select Beaver County and the likely court location.
- Enter the case number, or search the party name as filed.
- Confirm the county, court, case type, filing date, and party code.
- Open the extended history, then ask the clerk for certification if needed.
Beaver County Criminal Xchange Map
The official Xchange help screen maps every field a public search can use: jurisdiction, search type, case number, party name, case type, scope, location, and date filters. It is a field map only. No real Beaver County defendant appears in the official illustration.

That field layout serves a real purpose. It helps a searcher confirm the right court before reading charges or drawing conclusions from a matching name.
| Search control | Beaver County use | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Jurisdiction | District, justice, or both | Separates general and limited jurisdiction. |
| Case number | Pair with court | It is not unique statewide. |
| Case type | FS, MD, MO, or IF | Narrows criminal categories. |
| Date panel | Filing, disposition, judgment | Each date marks a different event. |
What a Criminal Docket Shows
Utah labels the online docket a summary or extended case history. A Beaver County criminal court docket can include the caption, the court, filing details, the assigned judge, parties and counsel, charges, plea data, proceedings, disposition, judgment, and accounting. A public PDF may be linked for purchase. This inventory comes straight from Utah Courts' own Xchange instructions.
| Case Number | The court identifier, such as 26########; copy it exactly and verify the court. |
|---|---|
| Charge | Description, level or class, and any special attribute entered. |
| Plea | The recorded plea nature and date, distinct from the charge. |
| Proceedings | Hearings, minute entries, filings, orders, and other events. |
| Disposition | The recorded resolution and date for a charge or event. |
| Accounting | Fine, fee, payment, trust, and balance data when displayed. |
A charge is an allegation, not a verdict. Read the plea, disposition, and judgment as separate acts, then check the official Utah code list before deciding what an entry means.
Beaver County Criminal Docket Courts
Jurisdiction decides which Beaver County clerk holds the file. Utah Code section 78A-5-102 gives district courts general jurisdiction, and section 78A-7-106 covers justice courts. Trust the court named on the citation or the Xchange row. The law-enforcement agency name does not control.
| Court | Criminal scope | Contact |
|---|---|---|
| Beaver District Court | Felonies, class A misdemeanors, general criminal cases | 2270 S 525 W; (435) 438-5309 |
| Beaver Justice Court | Class B/C misdemeanors, infractions, traffic, ordinances | 2270 S 525 W; (435) 438-6470 |
| Milford Justice Court | Milford precinct limited-jurisdiction cases | (435) 387-5571; verify the counter address |
| Minersville Justice Court | Minersville precinct limited-jurisdiction cases | 60 W Main St; (435) 386-2586 |
The Beaver County Clerk/Auditor does not keep criminal dockets. Each court clerk holds that court's own file, and the Fifth District Juvenile Court holds juvenile records outside Xchange's public reach.
Stages on a Criminal Docket
A Beaver County criminal court docket develops as staff enter events. The broad path is Filing → Arraignment → Pretrial → Plea or Trial → Disposition → Sentencing. Not every case follows each step. A continuance can move a setting. A filing may appear after clerk processing. A judgment can be entered on a date other than the plea or hearing.
Calendars and case histories do different jobs. Utah Court Calendars lists scheduled activity and updates on weekdays, while Xchange shows what the court has recorded. A future setting does not prove the hearing happened. For urgent dates, confirm with the proper Beaver County clerk.
- Arraignment
- A hearing where the charge is addressed and a plea may be entered.
- Proceeding
- A hearing, filing, minute entry, order, or other case event.
- Disposition
- The recorded resolution of a charge or case event.
- Judgment
- A court order or outcome recorded apart from other events.
Beaver County Criminal Docket Access
Xchange offers several ways in: guest access, account login, payment, and account setup. A one-time guest account carries a $10 charge. That comes with $0.20 per search and $1 per available document. A party to an eligible case can use MyCase free after verification. Utah eFile serves registered filers, not public browsing of criminal dockets.
Official guidance says free public Xchange terminals sit in most district courts. Confirm Beaver availability before traveling. You can also call or write the court that holds the case. Anything not online follows the Request for a Court Record process. It takes a written description and usually answers within ten business days. Send mail to the district or justice court, never the county administrative clerk.
Older criminal records take a different path. Xchange lists Beaver District Court's CORIS connection as August 17, 1998. It warns that earlier data may be incomplete. Utah State Archives holds browse-only Beaver indexes and older Fifth District material. A missing result can stem from age, court choice, status, spelling, or coverage.
Note: Xchange support handles system issues. But only the local court clerk can correct or certify case information.
Reading Beaver County Criminal Codes
Short codes pack a Beaver County criminal docket tight, so never read them from memory. Xchange defines DEF as defendant. It also lists case types like FS for state felony, MD for misdemeanor DUI, MO for other misdemeanor, and IF for infraction. A code marks the category the court entered. It proves nothing about guilt.
Keep violation, filing, hearing, plea, disposition, and judgment dates in separate fields. A name search that hits the 500-result maximum needs narrowing. Trim it by Beaver County, court, case type, and date. Check the court twice: once in the filter, again in the result row.
Public Access and Sealed Criminal Dockets
Utah court records start from a public-access presumption, but Beaver County criminal court dockets have limits. Utah Courts' Xchange rules exclude sealed and expunged cases. Juvenile cases, adoptions, civil mental-health commitments, child-welfare matters, and termination cases also stay outside ordinary public access.
Access boundary: UCJA Rules 4-202.02 and 4-202.03 classify public, private, protected, and sealed records. A person seeking nonpublic material must show a valid basis through the court. A missing result is not proof that no case was filed.
Expungement seals government records through its own process. That makes it different from a favorable disposition. Redactions tell you nothing private, and an address in a filing should not be reused. When citing a record, name the court, case number, event date, and exact disposition language. Then verify it with the originating Beaver County clerk.
Beaver County Certified Criminal Records
An Xchange printout helps with homework. Yet it is not a certified Beaver County criminal record on its own. The clerk sells plain copies and certified ones. Published charges run $0.25 per paper sheet, $4 per certified document, and $0.50 per page on top. Ask the clerk for a current estimate, since fees can change.
Put your request in writing. It should list the court, the case number, the caption, the date range, and the exact history or order you want. Note whether certification is required. Inspection and copying are two separate things. When the public PDF already sits on Xchange, the court may simply point you there. A tight request means less search and redaction work for everyone.
Beaver County Criminal Search Entry
The official Xchange landing page keeps things tidy. Guest search, payment, account login, and account setup each sit in their own spot. Looking up a Beaver County criminal docket there is one job; filing a case with the court is another.

The official Xchange landing page sorts guest search, payment, account login, and account setup into separate tracks. Looking up a case there is not the same as filing one.
